This was my first time using chalk paint - I wanted a nice teal color for a chest I had that didn't really match my bedroom color scheme. Since the chest seemed to be made of mdf covered with who knows what, chalk paint seemed to be a good choice. I chose the color "Twilight" as it seemed a good match for my teal bedding. The only prep I did was tape off the edges of the drawers and wash down the chest with plain water. From start to finish, including washing, drying, emptying the drawers, dragging outside, painting two coats, adding two coats of wax, buffing, and moving it back into place it only took four hours! I am really pleased with how easy this paint is to use and with the outcome.
Great color for fall. Delivered on time. The paint was just what I wanted to paint my vase for Fall.
I love this paint. Just a little bit goes a long way. The color is so pretty. I turned this old crappy dresser into something so nice and perfect for my sons room. I can’t wait to find something else to makeover using a different color!
I searched high and low for this particular color. I am so happy with this purchase. A little paint goes a long way.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well this paint went on. The desk was stained a very dark walnut and the paint covered beautifully with only two coats. I ran out of paint and reordered to finish the desk but the weather has not cooperated enough to finish the job. I will use this product again on another project.
I'm a very long-time user of Annie Sloan's chalk paint line. I have to make a 45-minute trip (one way) to get the AS paint from one of her suppliers. Nope, not anymore since I found the Chalky Chicks paint. Wow, what a relief. I took a gamble and ordered it. I mean, I really love AS chalk paint, and I feared nothing would even come close. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at its performance. The paint was perfectly smooth and creamy and was a really pretty shade of white. Not too bright, and no yellow undertones. I was painting over a black surface and ended up adding several coats, probably because I diluted the paint some in order to make for a smoother application. I did some distressing and it turned out beautiful. The only thing I noticed compared to AS chalk paint was that it was a little harder to distress. I typically use a 220-grit sandpaper for distressing (with AS paint) but had to go to a 150-grit paper. No big deal, just different. I also bought the Chalky Chicks mustard seed Tuscany yellow to paint two antique stained chairs.
I have to say, I’ve purchased a lot of chalk paint and this product is true to color and is easily applied without having the messy water drips and paint drying up so fast. It does take a little longer to dry but saves you time instead of struggling with the water bottle and other paints. I’m going to slowly replace all the other chalk paint I’ve purchased with this brand. I love it!
I wanted a light white shade that wasn’t bright white, old lace is the perfect color ! A soft creamy white that goes on great and blends nicely with other colors in the room while not being stark or bright.
Before, honey oak. After, nice wolf gray chalk paint. I'm a first time cabinet and chalk paint. So I opted to start in my laundry room. Now I have confidence to do my hall and linen cabinets, both honey oak today. I'm going to try hail white chalk paint on them. Easy, fast, and like that you can apply light enough to see wood grain but still have good coverage.
Love love love this paint! I've tried others but this is the best I've found. This is my third purchase. It has great coverage, goes on very smoothly, and it adheres like a dream. Great colors & stays fresh in the jar. I like that it comes in a jar instead of a can, but you need to make sure you wipe off the inside of the lid and outside of the jar or you will have a heck of a time getting the lid off again. I am a professional painter/decorative refinisher of 25+ years...Highly recommend.
Made an old side table look brand new. Covered up every flaw. Very pleased would definitely buy again.
Really Annie Sloan, Heritage, and Dixie Belle.....really? This paint was awesome to work with, great coverage, unbelievable price and fantastic clean up. Come on you other guys, you have big time competition. Will always buy again
Mustard is by far my fav. But this Antique copper look is a close second!! Things are shaping up around here!! 😍😍😍 thank you!!!
The color is beautiful. I’m in the process of moving so I haven’t used it yet.
Great paint. Easy to use. Only needed one thin coat for my project. Would purchase again.
This paint is one of the best chalk paints. I use it for stenciling projects and it goes on so smooth. And is very way to clean
My 1st time using chalk paint. Tried two different brands and this one was worlds above the other! Went on fantastic, so easy to age/distress, I will be a return shopper when I need more!
I wanted to refinish the tops of two expensive, black nightstands; and I did not want it to look like I repainted it (complete with brush strokes). I used the chalk paint and topped with black finishing wax. It's perfect, exactly the finish I was looking for.
Great chalk paint, I have used several brands and have made my own. Thos goes on nice, easy to work with, and I love the color. Great for beach themes! Thank you!
